this week i received an amazing one-of-a-kind gift: the forest cleaver:

for readers who don’t know, my brother, scott (of edge of montana), is an avid blade smith. this cleaver is hand-forged from 26c3 carbon steel with an organic hamon and a pinecone scale resin handle. in addition to top-notch looks, it feels great in the hand and is comfortable to use for daily knifework.
