About

i’m a dude who moved from socal to pdx for the promise of distinct seasons and to experience the nascent PNW food culture developing in the late aughts. in addition to chilling with my wife and parenting an amazing human teen, i enjoy banging on drums and playing a round (or five, or ten) of pickleball.

Just one more game.

— every pickleball addict

work-wise, i’m also known as @ironprogrammer, and i identify as a hacker. in more formal terms i’m a full stack developer with over 27 years of work experience in computing. my roles have included graphic and UX design, IT operations, customer service operations, AWS cloud services and architecture, and technical project management. oh, and lots and lots of development with wordpress core, plugins, and themes. so yeah, generalist extraordinaire.

during my decade-plus tenure helping run a boutique digital marketing agency, in addition to building cool stuff, i learned a lot about taking care of clients and looking ahead and planning for their future needs.

over the past few years i was fortunate to be a sponsored core contributor for the wordpress project (which powers 43% of the internet). during that time i learned to deeply appreciate the power and importance of open source, and formed a borderless network of amazing colleagues.

i currently do qa engineering for an amazing agency, which is a terrific outlet for my attention to detail, love of breaking things, and (gotta be honest here) pointing out issues “the unexpected”. this also allows me to further ply my skill of automating myself out of a job through process improvements and wielding agent-assisted workflows.
